Playful Data-driven Active Urban Living (PAUL)

Development and evaluation of a personalized gamified app to promote physical activity in urban spaces using sensors (beacons) in the public environment.

In this project we will develop and evaluate a personalized smartphone app incorporating game strategies (gamification) to promote physical activity in urban public spaces. The app will communicate with sensors (Beacons) attached at specific public locations allowing to provide context-specific feedback and messages to the user. The app will provide valuable data on physical activity and location of the user that will be used to evaluate how to personalize and optimize the app.
